Proponents of “realignment” have had to create their own version of Episcopal Church history and polity. This scholarly rebuttal of “orthodox” revisionism was written by historian Joan Gundersen for Progressive Episcopalians of Pittsburgh as the Diocese of Pittsburgh moved inevitably toward schism.
